lyrics

Another fades into the breeze
Another falls onto his knees
Another body commits itself, duly interred
With one last breath, another crows beneath the earth

Those hollow words echo, Fragile birds to Death’s sickle
Too weak now, the thorns impale, my spirit weak, embrace the veil

Drink wine with me, oh gracious host
And warm my blood as I fall in love with ghosts
Content to be asleep with thee

“Let my corpse entwine the roots of the tree that binds us here
to this place, alone. Yet carved in time, like waves upon the stones.
May my bones create an endless web of knotted branches
once I am dead, to travel through the root and bough,
and finally find that peace somehow.”

Saplings invade my veins, spreading throughout
All consciousness leaves in vain and hope replaces doubt
I know I’ve found my rest in this vernal tomb
Free to embrace rebirth from her summer womb

Her song, more distant now, the fires fade
The memories of her words in my mind replayed
Granting a spark of hope, soothing melodies
Guiding my wretched soul to thee

But now betrayed, no end in sight
No song, no melody, lost in endless plight
Her form fades, motes of dust swirl in vaporous lies
I stumbled into dusk

Great gnarled trees scrape the sky
Needles of pine impale the clouds
Ancient, revered - my Seeress, my funeral shroud

about

The Wolf Garden England, UK

"To purge the virus from the host, and recreate a body for the ghost."

From the end of seasons, a new fire burns.

The Wolf Garden was created from the ruins of the old world in 2016, inspired by the natural beauty of rural England and their ties to Old Norse culture.

They create haunting and brutal black metal, weaving folk tales and apocalyptic prophecy into a mournfully beautiful vision.
